There are trips to the various museums in the area, including the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, where it is possible to take art courses from local and national artists. Spanish courses in Santiago wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the top of Cerro San Cristobal. The top can be reached by bus, funicular or simply a long trek. At the top of the 830 meter hill, in the Barrio Bellavista community, there is a historical church with a statue of the Virgin Mary. The statue was donated to Chile by the French in 1920 and can be seen from virtually any part of Santiago. From the top of Cerro San Cristobal it is possible to get a wonderful view of the complete city and the mountains in the background.
