One of the smallest, yet one of the most beloved of all the National Parks in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is a wonderful place to spend time and visit. The park is located on the Pacific Ocean and is framed on one side by beautiful sandy beaches and on the other side by lush rainforests, hills and deep valleys. The Manuel Antonio Park itself is 682 hectares in size and is located just a short 132 kilometers from San Jose. Most travel to the area occurs between December and March, as this is the dry season and is perfect for hiking and wildlife watching. The mangrove forests on the Island provide shade and cooler temperatures for day trips and hiking.

Fishing is popular outside of Manuel Antonio Park.
