Spanish Language Schools Cuernavaca: ABT Language Services

Introduction

CETLALIC is one of the most progressive schools in Latin America. Students study social justice issues while at the same time studying Spanish in intensive language classes. Topics include:

  • Women´s issues
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • LGBT life
  • Indigenous rights
  • Religion and liberation theology
  • Labor issues

Site visits to organizations related to the particular topic are included in special programs, as well as talks by local community people involved in the particular issue. Translations of talks are provided whenever necessary for beginning and intermediate level Spanish students.

Our teaching methodology is based on the work of Paulo Freire. Students are encouraged to contribute their insights and participate in critical analysis.

Our teachers are native Spanish speakers from Mexico with professional training and extensive experience with all levels of Spanish students, from beginning to advanced.

The regular program is open year-round, starting on Monday of every week (except observed Mexican holidays).
